Walk from Huangshi Village in China to see the Tianzi Mountains
Measuring 1,262 meters tall, the Tianzi Mountain is the tallest mountain of the Wulingyuan Scenic Area. At that height, it offers one of the best views of the surrounding peaks. Some might disagree, especially when the clouds block the view, but others say that the clouds themselves are part of the scenery.
To enjoy the views you have to walk to it. The hike involves a 7 km walk, which includes climbing a couple of thousand stairs. This is in addition to the trek from the Huangshi Village. The walk will take you around 2 hours, 1 if you're fast, but you may want to slow down to take in the views as you make the climb.
Unfortunately, the views are rather hit or miss. On a lucky day when the clouds aren't so thick, all you'd see is a huge white wall surrounding you.
All you need to do to start the hike is to ride the shuttle bus at the park entrance and go to the Shi li hua lang bus stop. From there, you can take the cable to the mountain top, or you can go the more scenic route and walk the entire seven-kilometer path. Don't worry, there's only one path there, so you won't get lost. It's pretty straightforward as well, albeit making for quite a workout.
One good reason to climb on top of the Tianzi Mountains is to surround yourself with the beauty of Mother Nature as you'll see very little man-made structures en-route to the top.
