What you should know before traveling to Saudi Arabia

If you must or you want to travel to Saudi Arabia, you should know that traveling to the western cities isn’t recommended, because of Al-Qaida attacks. Also, this country has problems with MERS infection, so you will have to be careful. The size of Saudi Arabia is 1.960.582km². It has 27.601.038 citizens. In a case of an emergency, you should dial 999.
You must know that entry will be refused to citizens of Israel or those who show visas or stamps from this country. Saudi Arabia has one of the most restricted travel policies in the world. Foreign citizens, from all countries need a visa. So, if you are traveling to this country, you must get a visa, before you go. The only exception is citizens of the Gulf Cooperation Council nations.

The best way to travel to this county is by a plane. There are 4 international airports in Saudi Arabia. They are located at: Dammam, Madinah, Jeddah and Riyadh. The national carrier is Saudi Arabia Airlines. You can also go to Saudi Arabia by a car or a bus. However, you cannot use trains, because there is no railway that connects this country with other countries. 
The official language is Arabic. It is very hard to talk and read. But, road signs are usually written in both (English and Arabic) languages. Some people understand English, but you will need a translator if you want to communicate. 

The official currency is the Saudi riyal. There are a lot of ATMs. They can be found in gas stations and malls. The largest bank is the National Commercial Bank.
