Six Tips for Women Travelling Alone

Six Tips for Women Travelling Alone

Modern women are no longer afraid to travel alone. Whether it is for leisure or business, more and more women are having the courage to hit the road without a companion. In fact, some ladies prefer to go on trips on their own even if there are people who could accompany them. There's just something beautiful about traveling alone that women cannot resist.

If this is your first time to go on a solo trip, consider the tips below to make the most of your unaided journey. Even if you think you are brave enough to conquer anything that may come along the way, it is still best to carry out extra precautions.

  1. Find a safe hotel.

Never book into a hotel that you just bumped into accidentally. Months before your trip, take time to do your research. Refer to reliable sites and read reviews so you'll know which accommodation can make your stay worry-free.

  1. Let your family know where your itinerary.

It is important that at least one family member knows about your destination and your itinerary. If anything goes wrong, your loved ones know where to find you.

  1. Have a printed copy of your itinerary.

Keep a list of your itinerary, the address of the hotel or hotels where you will be staying, a list of emergency phone numbers, and a photocopy of your Passport – one of each for yourself and one for a family member to keep.

  1. Keep money on your pocket.

Avoid keeping all of your money and cards in just one purse. Make sure you have extra to spend in case you lose your bag. Most modern hotels have room safes for your money and your Passport. Keep a copy of your Passport on your person while the original is in the safe.

  1. Be armed with safety devices.

It is strongly advised to keep at least one safety device in your pocket when you travel, such as a whistle or a digital alarm to call attention in case someone tries to attack or accost you.

  1. Talk to female hotel employees

Try to befriend a female hotel employee. Make sure she is a sincere one who can give you tips on how to make the most of your stay.
