Disneyland Paris to Undergo a $2.5 Billion Upgrade
Disneyland Paris will have three new areas based on Marvel, Star Wars, and Frozen. The expansion project has a working budget of $2.5 billion. Chairman CEO Bob Iger said that they are excited about the new project, and the company is willing to invest in the theme park to ensure its long-term success.
At present, Disneyland Paris is one of the top tourist destinations in Europe. The upgrade will add new attractions and entertainment that will improve the guest experience. The expansion will also provide new opportunities for tourism within the region.
As part of the expansion plans, the Walt Disney Company is going to add a lake that connects the new areas. The expansion of the park will have three phases with the first phase beginning in 2021.
The Frozen area will have Elsa’s Ice Palace and the village of Arendelle. Last February, the company said that they would renovate the Rock ‘n Roller Coaster starring Aerosmith into a new hyper-kinetic adventure with Iron Man. One of the hotels in the park will also turn into a Marvel-themed hotel. There is still no word yet whether the Star Wars section will have features of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, which will open in other Disney theme parks in California and Florida in 2019.
You can find Disneyland Paris in Marne-la-Valle, which is about 20 miles outside of the city. It opened in 1992 and has since become the top destination for tourists. It has some of the best rides at Disney theme parks across the planet.
Walt Disney Company is busy upgrading its theme parks worldwide. The expansion of Tokyo Disney Resort is currently underway. Shanghai Disneyland will open its Toy Story Land soon. Hong Kong Disneyland started its renovation project that will include Marvel and Frozen attractions as well as a new castle within the park.
